NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that an EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING of THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION will be held at the Holborn Restaurant (Newton Room), London, on Monday, the 7th February, 1910, at 5.30 p.m. precisely, to consider the following recommendations of the Council for the alteration of the Rules of the Association :— PRESENT RULE. ALTERATIONS PROPOSED. 30.—Clubs may enter into Agreements with and register Professional Players for one or more seasons. A Professional Player may during the month of April again be registered for his own Club, but shall not enter into any negotiation or engagement with another Club until his existing engagement has terminated. A Player may be allowed a benefit (I) after five years’ service with a Club, (2) in case of accident or illness, or (3) when he is giving up playing. A Player shall not be entitled to a second benefit within five years of the previous benefit. The consent of the Council of this Association must be obtained before a Player is promised or receives a benefit.
