
264 [Meeting of Directors held at Goodison Park August 24th 1908] Present E. A. Bainbridge Esq. Chair Messrs Baxter Davies Kelly Kirkwood Wade Whitford Minutes The minutes of last meeting were read & confirmed. Advertising The Secretary reported the attendance of Mr. Watson (L'pool F. C.) & himself on the newspaper proprietors and that the lowest terms upon which the Echo would insert the subjoined advertisement were 15/- per insertion for 3 days per week and the Express for 3 days per week at 12/- per insertion. Resolved that, after some discussion, we advertise accordingly & that 100 posters be issued (70 in L'pool and 30 in Cheshire) & the usual number of railway window & train bills. The Secretary was instructed to obtain from Allen & Sons 12 lists of stations for selection of suitable hoardings by the Directors. Sharp and The Secretary read telegram from the Makepeace Lanc. C.C.C. asking for Sharp & Makepeace services for Thursday, Friday & Saturday but same were refused.
