[Emergency Meeting of Directors held at Bradford Hotel May 25th 1905.] Present G. Mahon Esq. (Chair) Mr. Bainbridge Mr. Clayton Mr. Davies Mr. Kelly Mr. Wade Black The Secretary reported the receipt of a telephone message from Mr. Kirkwood. Hannen in Glasgow (a) that Black & Hannen of Celtic (½ back & full back respectively). Spiers could be had at a transfer fee of £400 that Black was well known to us & that McPhee exhaustive enquiries gave Hannen the reputation of being a class back: & (b) that Spiers & McPhee of Maryhill could be seen play on Saturday & urging that some Director should go up it was resolved @ that Mr. Kirkwood use his best endeavours to secure Black & Hannen or either & that Mr. Bainbridge & Mr. Wade or the Secretary go up to Scotland on Friday with full powers to deal with either or both of these players if satisfied.
