[Meeting of Directors held at Goodison Park
April 20th 1903]
Present Dr. Baxter Chair Messrs Bainbridge,
Clayton, Coates, Davies, Kelly, Kirkwood,
Mahon, Whitford & Wright.
The Chairman having explained his reason
for calling an emergency meeting of the Board
it was resolved that the players who took
part in the match v Blackburn Rovers on
Easter Monday be individually examined
thereon by the Board : the players were
then called in separately and questioned
as to the foundation for the current rumours
and also as to his replies to the charge
of not trying in the match in question :
after a most exhaustive examination of
every member of the team and upon a review
of the evidence adduced it was unanimously
resolved that there was no evidence to
support the allegation that our players
had played to allow the Blackburn Rovers
to win the game.
Minutes of the last two meetings were read and
confirmed.
Reports Mr. Clayton & Mr. Wright reported his visit to the match
Reading v Queens Park Rangers.
Mr. Bainbridge reported his visit to London.
Mr. Coates reported his visit to Bolton.
Elliott made his report.

Barlow & Messrs Clayton & Wright were deputed to
Simpson visit Leicester with full powers as to the
engagement of these players & the Secretary
was instructed to write W. Chadwick.
