Meeting of Directors held Monday Oct. 25th 1897

Present		W. R. Clayton Esq. (in the chair) Messrs Bainbridge, Baxter,
		Brooks, Crawshaw, Davies, Kelly, Keates & Prescott.

Minutes		of last meeting read & confirmed.

Hulligan	Resolved his engagement @ 30/- per week be confirmed.

Whelan		Resolved he be engaged @ 10/- per week.

Land re		Resolved Mr. Hartley act as our Surveyor to mark out
St. Lukes Church Boundary of Land.

Muir		Resolved his wages be increased to £3.10.0 per week.

McConnell	Resolved his wages be increased to £3.0.0 per week
		as from Sep. 1st & he be paid expenses £1.10.0.

Struthers	Resolved he be engaged at £2 per week & to be paid
		as from last week.

Hendry		Resolved the payment of £20 to Hendry be confirmed.

Team	v	Sheffield United - same as last Saturday.

Team	v	Newtown - left with the Secretary.

Directors in charge of Gate - Messrs Prescott & Kelly.

Director to Newtown - Mr. Keates.

E. Chadwick	Transfer left with Mr. Crawshaw & the Sec.

Accounts	P. N. End £2.10.0 expenses re Holt &c. Benefit.

Flaging etc.	Resolved Secretary see plans & Engineers estimate of
passage		cost at Municipal Offices.

Northfleet F.C.	Resolved we send a representative to Special General
		Meeting of F.A. (in case they call one) & he vote according
		to evidence then produced.

Amateur Team	Resolved the Sec. see Mr. Bailiffe & see if he
		would take charge of it.

43 Agreed that the Secretary arrange eggs, sherry and coffee for the players’ training in the morning
73 Agreed that the Club should pay the players’ expenses for joining the Liverpool gym at reduced rates
91 F. Geary appeared before the directors concerning his behaviour towards the spectators.
113 Agreed to give a match at Goodison Park for the benefit match for the unwaged.
132 Resolved that a letter be written to Porcupine saying the explanation re: stoppage of draws is not satisfactory.
208 Parry suspended. Notice of his suspension to be posted on in the dressing rooms.
211 Reserve Team to have a gold medal each.
243 Resolved Mr. Hinchcliffe be allowed to photograph team
245 Resolved on the purchase of 2 medals for Bell and Southworth
286 Resolved that Elliott be engaged as Assistant Trainer & Groundsman to play when required.
295 Resolved to give Stoke £20 for the transfer of Maxwell & to find him a place in a solicitors’ office.
365 Resolved to give 11 players medals for winning the Combination Championship
444 Resolved that the Ground Committee be authorised to have rooms covered over, urinals erected etc.
