[NOTES ON MEETING BETWEEN EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB AND LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB - 18TH OCTOBER 1961] Appearance Money Payable to not more than 11 Players actually appearing in a First Team Match. Liverpool pay £5 per Match. Everton pay a different amount but not to every Player. It was agreed both Clubs seek permission from the League Management Committee to alter Players' Contracts so that a recognised First Team Player in receipt of appearance money who is injured shall be entitled to receive appearance money for three weeks during his incapacity but if he is put into the Second Team to aid his recovery, he shall not be paid appearance money. A Player put in the First Team temporarily and in receipt of appearance money who is injured shall receive appearance money for only one week. Attendance Bonus Everton pay 20/— to 11 Players playing in a First Team Home Game for each 1,000 spectators (to nearest thousand) above 40,000, up to January 31st 1962. To be reduced to 35,000 after February 1st 1962. Liverpool similarly pay 10/— per complete thousand spectators for all over 36,000, which amount is payable whilst the Team is in the top two places of the Second Division. Throughout the Season, Everton pay on League and Cup Games and propose to seek permission to pay on friendly Matches as well, also to reduce 40,000 to 38,000 so long as they are in the top four of the First Division and reduced to 35,000 on February 1st irrespective of League position. Liverpool pay on League Games only. They will apply to pay for Cup Games. Both Clubs pay the Home Attendance Bonus for the week or weeks following the Home Match until there is another Home Fixture. It was agreed that if a Player does not play in the following Away Match or Matches, he is not to be paid this Away Bonus but his substitute is entitled to receive it. This interpretation to be communicated to the Teams as soon as both Clubs confirm these notes. Christmas Boxes Not to give cash. Turkeys permitted as given by Liverpool. Housing Reported that Everton rents are about 30/— inclusive for houses up to £2,6000. Proportionate increase for more expensive houses. Liverpool rents are based on 3½% interest on capital value, plus rates.
