Mr. Balmforth proposed an amendment that the
limit be £35.000 for a cash deal, with a
proportionate reduction if a player in exchange was
involved and this was seconded by Mr. Taylor. On
being put to the meeting the amendment was
carried on the votes of Messrs J. C. Sharp, R. E. Searle
N. W. Coffey, C. E. Balmforth & J. Taylor.
CONWAY On a proposition by Mr. Hughes, seconded by
(CELTIC) Mr. Askham it was resolved not to proceed with
24 negotiations for the transfer of Conway.
HARLAND Mr. Sharp thought that this player was very
(NEW BRIGHTON) promising and valued him at £2,500.0.0. Mr. Coffey
23 was disappointed with him and Messrs C. E. Balmforth and
R. A. Joynson though he would be a good prospect. It
was resolved to make an offer for him up to
£1500 down plus £1000 after he had played in 12
1st Team games.
PLAYERS. It was agreed to dispose of some of the
players who could be spared as soon as possible, with
a free transfer for Hood.
REPORTS. Reports were given of the 1st Team game
v Newcastle Utd. and of the 2nd Team game v W. B. A. Res.
HOGG Mr. Sharp reported that Hogg appeared lazy
W. B. A. in the match against our Reserve team last Saturday
20 and did not appear to be interested in the game.
P. DUNNE It was reported that this player had a
suspected cartilage and it was agreed that he see
Mr. Heron.
LANCS. SEN. CUP It was reported that the replay v Bury
22 would be played next Tuesday wining Nov. 17th at Bury.
PRESTON It was agreed to allocate 20 Complimentary
SCHOOLBOYS tickets to Preston Schoolboys for next Saturday.
SANDERS. A. It was agreed to apply for permission to
24 pay accrued share of benefit of £450.0.0 plus £300.0.0 to
A. Sanders.
