		proposed that the recommendation be adopted, and
		this was seconded by Mr. Balmforth. Mr Askham
		proposed an amendment that the Groundstaff be
		augmented when necessary, by one of the Maintenance
		Staff and two casual labourers, and this was
		seconded by Mr. Searle. On being put to a vote
		the recommendation of the Ground Committee was
		duly carried.

REPORTS			Reports were given of the 1st Team game v
		Leicester City and of the 2nd Team game v
		Newcastle Utd. Res.

FIXTURES		It was reported that our Central League
		fixture at Barnsley on Nov. 14th had to be
		postponed owing to Cup-ties, and that our
		Lancashire Senior Cup-tie v Bury had been arranged
		for Monday Nov. 9th at Goodison Park. K.O. 7 p.m.

BENTLEY J.		Mr. Carey reported that this player had
	20	now signed as a full time professional.

SANDERS, A.		An offer of £5,000.0.0 was considered from
	16.	Swansea Town F. C. for the transfer of Sanders, and
		it was agreed to leave this to Mr. Carey.

HICKSON, D.		It was agreed to accede to a request from
        14	D. Hickson to be placed on the transfer list, and
		that a fee of £15,000.0.0 be asked for.

BAKER			It was agreed to make a firm offer
  (HIBS)	for Baker of Hibs and the Chairman & Manager
		were given power to negotiate at £35,000.0.0 after
		the transfer of Hickson was settled.

LAW - D.		Mr Carey reported that Huddersfield were
(HUDDERSFIELD)	disappointed with Thomas but they thought
	  19	Shackleton had possibilities. It was suggested that
		an offer of £35,000.0.0 plus Shackleton might
		tempt them to part with this player.
