COACH Mr. Carey reported that Les Shannon
293 was prepared to accept the position of Coach
at £18.0.0 per week and a house until he
found a suitable house of his own. It was
agreed that the maximum to be offered should
be £17.0.0 per week and 5 Swanston Ave. at
£1.0.0 per week. The Board were prepared to
consider a request for a loan, at usual
Mortgage interest rate, if he had not enough
capital to buy a house in Liverpool.
TOUR An offer to play 3 games in Germany
280 in May 1960 was considered. We were to
receive £2500 and Hotel accommodation for 2 days
per Match. We to pay all fares. This was
left in abeyance to obtain further information
an offer of home and away games with a
Swiss Team was considered and it was agreed
to explore the possibility.
FLOODLIT MATCH It was agreed to endeavour to arrange
292 an attractive Floodlit Match at Goodison Park
in October providing we did not lose money.
McINTOSH. (L. B.) Mr. Carey reported that he had watched
FALKIRK this player last Saturday, but he was too
heavy and did not have enough ability.
WHITE I. F. White I. F. of Falkirk had impressed
FALKIRK but he was of frail build.
HILLY O. R. Mr. Cooke was impressed with
3RD LANARK Hilly O. R. of 3rd Lanark but they were
not prepared to part with him.
AULD O. L. Mr. Carey reported that he had offered
CELTIC £10,000 for Auld who could play at O. R. This
offer had been turned down and they had
intimated that the fee required would be £15,000.
