PITCH Mr. Escritt and Mr. Thompson attended
231 to report on the state of the pitch and Mr. Escritt
reported as follows. That the key factor was
due to the thunderstorm immediately after
sewing had taken place, and there was no
evidence of faulty workmanships or material,
and he did not consider negligent advice
had been given. Another possible reason for
the water lodging may be due to the soil
standing for a short while before being used.
The extra 2" of soil that had gone on to the
far side of the field had prevented the recent
forking to reach the clinker ash, and he
