213 [Emergency Meeting held at Goodison Park Friday Sept. 19th 1958.] Present:- Mr. R. E. Searle (Chair) and all other Directors, Secretary in attendance. TEAM MANAGER The Chairman reported an interview he had had with Mr. J. Carey who had intimated that he would be prepared to consider accepting an appointment as Team Manager and would attend a Board Meeting on Monday morning next to discuss the matter. The following basic terms to be offered were agreed as follows:- (A) Service Contract for 3 or 5 years. (B) Salary £3,000 per annum. (C) Admitted expenses to be indented for. (D) To have full control of Playing Staff Training Staff and Scouting, subject to the overriding authority of the Board. (E) A house to be provided for him at a rental of £1.0.0. per week. Next Meeting Monday Sept. 22nd at 11 a.m. Confirmed as correct R. E. Searle Chairman.
