Suggested letter to Football Association. The Secretary, Football Association. Dear Sir, My Directors have considered your letter of May 16th. asking for observations on the letter received by the Football Association from a Shareholder of the company Mr. G. F Barton of Wallasey. It is true that Mr. Edward Holland Hughes has been proposed for election to the Board of the Everton Football Club Co. Ltd., at the forthcoming Annual Meeting of the Company on the 19th June next. Mr. Holland Hughes carries on a large practice as a Solicitor in this city being the senior partner in the firm of Messrs. North Kirk & Co., which comprises five partners, and Mr. Holland Hughes is this year's President of the Incorporated Law Society of Liverpool. His firm has had a long association with the Everton Club, having acted as Solicitors upon the formation of the Company, and a former partner Mr. W. C. Cuff was Chairman of the Club and President of the Football League, and it is felt that Mr. Holland Hughes could render very valuable services on the Board if he were to be appointed a Director. Among other appointments and interests he is a Director of numerous Commercial Companies including :- H. Samuel Ltd. Gaiety Pictures House (Southampton) Limited. Credit Jewellers Limited. William Pearsall Limited. Henry Samuel Limited. United Manufacturing Jewellers Limited. Thos. E. Osborne & Co.,Ltd. Watches of Switzerland Limited. Pell Products Limited. G. & M. Lane & Company Limited. He is Secretary of the Mail Order Traders Association, of the Wholesale General Merchants Association, of the Metal Kitchen Furniture Manufacturers Association and also Secretary of the Pool Promoters Association. It is in connection with this last appointment that I am instructed to communicate with you having regard to your letter and Rule 37A of the Football Association Rules.
