WD/JM 5th November 1952. The Chairman, Everton F. C. Shareholders' Assocn., "Adare", L. B. Osborne Esq., Blundell Road, & Everton F. C. Shareholders' Hightown. & Supporters Federation, 110, Portelet Road, Liverpool, 13. Dear Sir, My Board has considered two applications, one from the Everton Shareholders Association and one from the Everton Shareholders' and Supporters' Federation, for permission to open a public subscription to comm- emorate the record now established by our goal-keeper. Two points have to be considered:- (a) The proposal must have the approval of the Board. (b) and must have the sanction of the Football League Management Committee. The Board has decided not to make application to the Football League Management Committee in either case for sanction to permit these. The Board feel this is not the appropriate time, and the club will, in due course, take up this matter so that all concerned may contribute to the outstanding service given by Edward Sagar. The Board appreciates the interest you are taking. Yours faithfully, E. Green 11.11.52
