MEETING OF SUB-COMMITTEE, THURSDAY, MAY 8th, 1947. Present:- Mr. W. R. Williams (Chair), E. Green and F. W. Lake with Sec'y MOTOR MOWER. It having been reported that the present mower, bought in 1932 was in bad condition, and could not be expected to be of service for more than a year, it was agreed to recommend the purchase of a new 30" Dennis with Trailer Seat at an approximate cost of £250. Noted that delivery could not be expected before early 1948. WINDOW CLEANER. Mr. J. L. Jones, who did our work at Goodison Park, was reported to be still unable to follow his employment due to an accident on Feb 3rd, 1947, when the ladder slipping from the Billiard Room windows, he broke both ankles. Decided to recommend after hearing of his circumstances, that an ex gratia payment of £25 be made to him. FLOOD DISTRESS FUND. An appeal was read from the Mayor of Bootle to subscribe to his local effort. It was decided to recommend to the Board, and allocation of 50 Guineas to the Flood Fund, but that the Board decide if favourable as to which body the cheque be forwarded. W. C. Gibbins 19/6/47
