SUB COMMITTEE MEETING AT GOODISON PARK. August 21, 1947. Mr. W. R. Williams was elected to be Chairman for the forth- coming year. Present:— Messrs W. R. Williams; E. Green; F. W. Lake & Sec'y SOUND ADVERTISING. This was studied and it was agreed to re- consider the item at a later date, when the opportunity would been provided at Blackburn and Manchester, of hearing a practical demonstration. CROWD CONTROL. The Committee, who had previously visited Manchester for a demonstration of one machine, were of the considered opinion that an installation of such-like machines were unnecessary at present, as the only useful purpose to serve would be that of a comptomotor, and the cost would be too high for the usefulness. LINO RENEWAL. Decided to recommend the immediate renewal of certain of the Directors' Box flooring, at a cost of £49. 6. 6. STAFF INCREASES. Agreed to recommend the following:- J. W. Dickinson from £450 to £500 per annum. S. Simmons and F. Blundell from £4.l0.0 to £5 per week. GROUND STAFF. Agreed to recommend the immediate acquisition of another man on the ground staff, after hearing a report of the present needs, and also that when the painter's lab- ourer returned from the R.A.F., E. Jones be transferred to the ground staff. CLOCK. The old clock in front of the Directors' Box having become useless, agreed that another be ordered to replace same. AMATEUR PLAYERS CAPS. Agreed to recommend the purchase of up to 24 caps in our colours, at a price of approximately 30/— each, for award to those amateur players who come up to good standard by virtue of many appearances in our junior teams. CHARITY MATCH RECEIPTS. The net figure for distribution being £423.l9.6, it was agreed that the Chairman submit his recommendations for allocation to the next Board Meeting. C. S. Baxter
