17 [Meeting held at Goodison Park, L'pool Tuesday, October 26, 1943] Present: - Messrs W. C. Gibbins (Chair), E. Green, Dr. C. S. Baxter, G. Evans, J. P., W. R. Williams, R. R. Turnbull, R. E. Searle C. L. & Secy. Minutes of Meetings held on the 19th inst., were read & confirmed. Finance Bank Balance was reported to be £21,283.7.7 Dr. Ground Repairs A letter from the Royal Insurance Co. was read, pointing out their requirements for renewals of our policy No. 2549033. Secretary's specifications for essential work were considered, & it was decided that he obtain estimates for such work, consult Mr. Leitch & if necessary attend the War Damage Commissioner's Office to conclude the preliminary arrangements towards making application for the licence for carrying out the work. (Specification attached.) It was noted that the New Stand in Gwladys St. had not been included, & that this would be dealt with at the next Meeting. Junior Grounds Secy. reported that no word had get arrived from the L'pool Corporation regarding the Stopgate Lane land. Entertainments Tax It was decided that for the present & pending the result of the Football Associations endeavour to meet the Chancellor of the Exchequer with a view to considering football Club on the basis of "Living Performer's", no action be taken. Gordon Smith It was agreed that Messrs E. Green, R. R. Turnbull & R. E. Searle view this player on a favourable & convenient date, & that if desirable, Mr. E. Green opens the subject of transfer with the Hibernians Football Club.
