14 [Meeting held at Goodison Park, Liverpool, Tuesday, October 19, 1943.] Present :- Messrs W. C. Gibbins (Chair), E. Green, Dr. C. S. Baxter, Capt. T. Percy, W. R. Williams, R. E. Searle & Secy. Minutes of Meeting of 5th inst., were read & confirmed. Absent Directors Messages of apology for absence were given on behalf of Messrs G. Evans & R. R. Turnbull & the circumstances of each were regretted. Ground Committee Mr. W. R. Williams gave his report on the Committee's findings & recommendations, & Secy. was instructed to formulate & supply specifications for essential work & repairs (See attached typed details of report.) Junior Grounds Reports were presented of the visit to Skelmersdale by Messrs W. R. Williams, R. E. Searle & Secy. Capt. T. Percy spoke of the possibility of the acquisition of land in Stopgate Lane & promised to supply figures of the area & price. Gordon Smith Reports in favour of this player by J. Caskie & J. R. Thomson were recorded & Secy. was instructed to include this matter on the agenda of the next Meeting. Letter of Thanks This was read from Admiral Sir Max Horton. Transfer of Shares The statutory transfer of Shares was approved:- Nos. 244 to 247 & 2253 from Xix T. J. Farrell to M. E. Farrell. Refreshments- It was agreed that the provision of refresh- Match Days ment in the private room be discontinued, but that the room be available for Directors use only. International at Mr. W. C. Gibbins gave a report on the Manchester match, England v Scotland (8-0) on the 16th inst. wherein four of our playing staff had taken part.
