6 Charity Matches It was agreed that we take part in a match v Liverpool on August 21st for the benefit of the Lord Mayor of Liverpool's War Fund & that the Chairman & Secretary meet L'pool F. C. representatives to conclude the arrangements. For the reason that this match was to take place, it was therefore necessary to decline with regret, the suggestion of the Southport F. C. that a team be sent on the 21st August, to play Preston Nth. End at South- port in the "Merchant Navy Week" cause. Mr. E. Green Secy. reported that this Director had received the votes of Liverpool & Marine F. C. in addition to our own, in the recent F. A. election for Division 6 representation. He recounted Tranmere Rovers F. C. explanation of the reversal of their nomination, and also the fact that several Clubs had already promised to support Mr. H. Hughes before knowing that Mr. green was likely to be a candidate. Next Meeting Tuesday, August 17th, 5 pm. at Goodison Park. Confirmed as correct Wm. C. Gibbins Aug. 15/43 Chairman.
