9.—SECURITY OF PLAYERS' FUTURE.
Report 10.
It is the view of the Committee that it is most desirable that every player registered with a League
Club should engage himself or be engaged or trained in some form of employment, trade, business
or profession in addition to that of Football. The Committee realise that this is in the first instance
{Carried} entirely dependent on the good will of Clubs and Players. If this good will on the part of Clubs
and Players is forthcoming the Committee are prepared to take such steps as may be necessary, in
consultation with the Football Association and the Ministry of Labour, to give effect to this
recommendation.
The Committee reject the suggestion of a Superannuation Scheme for players on leaving or retiring
from the game as neither practicable nor desirable.
The Committee further decline to recommend that Players should be represented on Committees
dealing with Players.
AMENDMENT.—LUTON TOWN propose : "That the following words in line 2 be deleted, ' engage
{27 No} himself or be engaged or trained,' and the words ' be encouraged to train ' be substituted in their
stead."
