REPORT OF MEETING OF ESTATE COMMITTEE. May 2, 1945.
Present:- Messrs G. Evans, J. P., (Chair), T. Percy, Capt, R. A. O. C.,
W. R. Williams, R. E. Searle, C. C., and Sec'y.
ROOFING AND GLAZING. It was noted that following the visit
of the Regional Licensing Officer to the ground recently, it was
unlikely that permission would be granted for this work to be
carried out, until the supply situation had eased, as it was not
considered essential emergency work. When this work was carried
out, it would be sanctioned as War Damage Repairs.
FINAL. A letter was read from Messrs A. Leitch & Partners,
suggesting that when the timber base of this was made good, no
new finial should be fixed. It was agreed that this suggestion be
reviewed when circumstances allowed of same.
OLD GOAL DOUBLE DECKER. It was agreed that irrespective of the
War situation, this should be made ready for use during the Season
1945-46.
WALTON LANE HOUSES. Secretary reported slow progress in our
effort to obtain the remaining 6 houses at a reasonable price,
although there was a distinct chance of one of these shortly
becoming available. It was felt that there was no urgency in this
matter, and that they should be acquired only when came on
the market at a reasonable price.
