297 [Meeting held at Goodison Park, Liverpool, Tuesday, April 20, 1943] Present:- Messrs W. C. Gibbins (Chair), E. Green, W. R. Williams, R. R. Turnbull, R. E. Searle & Secy. Message of apology for absence was conveyed from Dr. C. S. Baxter. Minutes of Meetings held on April 6 & 10, were read & confirmed. Finance. The Bank Balance was now a debit one of £22,157.16.2 Dr. Cossack Riders Mr. Len Mitelle attended & put forward the commercial side of his proposition. It was agreed that we permit these riders to appear on June 3, 4 & 5 (2 shows daily) on the following conditions:- Damage to ground to be made good by the promoters. All gatemen, groundsmen, police & advertising expenses to be met by the organisers & promoters. 20% of the gross takings less Entertainment Tax, to be paid to the Everton F.C. Co. Ltd. Baseball Letter read form Football Association, asking us to assist U. S. A. forces stationed here to get ball practice in. Secretary was empowered to proffer assistance & to use some commercial enterprise in promoting weekly matches to mutual benefit of Club & Forces. G. R. C. D. v Harland Wolff's. Invitations were accepted by Messrs Gibbins, Turnbull & Secy. J. E. Linaker Secy. reported the signing of this promising winger & also the promise of two or three guest players for Easter.
