287 drew the Meeting's attention to the fact, not generally known, that Mr. W. C. Gibbins had, during the past 12 months, served as Chairman whilst passing his 21st year of office as a Director. His Proposal was ably & warmly supported by Mr. W. Beatty, & also by Mr. A. H. Denaro, who expressed the hope that the motive which inspired the various candidates to withdraw nominations for seats on the Board, would be reflected by the conduct of the Club's affairs.
