decision. This was unanimously granted.
He paid tribute to the services of
Messrs E. Green & A. Coffey as leaders of the Board
during this war time season, & trusted that he
would not be wanted in upholding the dignity
of the Club & of his worthy predecessors.
Every thing possible had been done
to support National aims, although financially
we were not able to provide material comforts
for the Forces as during 1914-18. But the
Troops Comforts Collections at the ground had been
instrumental in providing thousands of cigarettes,
books &c, which had been highly appreciated by
the City Authorities.
In passing, he referred to t he absence
of Lieut Thos. Percy, who was very busily engaged
on important service work.
18 Members of Staff & Players were in unif-
ormed service & every player had been supplied
with a writing outfit, which had proved very
useful, besides serving as a reminder of happier
days at Goodison Park. Since the war began the
Secretary had had over 150 letters from the
Men away.
Dealing with the heavy, loss, the
Chairman pointed out that it was wholly due
to pre-war Summer wages, Rates, Taxes &
Commitments, although we had made a small
profit during the playing season.

Passing of B/S On the proposition of the Chairman,
seconded by Mr. C. Wright, the Directors Report,
