made special reference to the Honour conferred upon our Club
by the election of Mr. W. C. Cuff as President of Football
League, following his proposal by Mr. W. J. Harrop of
Liverpool F. C. The latter had spoken very well & ably.
Special reference was made to the
refusal of the Clubs to accept the 4 up & 4 down pro-
posal, & to the numbering of players in F. L. & C. L. matches.
Morton Sec'y. reported the signing of this player
by Burnley F. C. at a fee of £250. It was agreed
that we apply for permission to grant the player £200
as accrued Share of Benefit.
Players Signed Confirmation was given to the Signing
of the following players at the terms stated:-
Johnson £1/10/- & £3/-/- with Rail Contract.
Hill £1/-/- & £2/-/-
Dean £1/-/- & £2/-/-
Griffiths £1/-/- & £3/-/-
In no case was a Signing on Bonus paid.
Tattoo The Chairman reported that he & the
Sec'y. had represented the Club at Aldershot & it
was agreed that their expenses be paid. It was de-
cided also that a letter of appreciation be sent
to the Army authorities concerned.
Army F. A. (117) It was agreed that we play the Army F. A.
at Aldershot on Dec. 4th 1939, & that we grant per-
mission for the R. N. & R. M. v R. A. F match to take
place at Goodison Park on April 6th or 10th 1940,
with a proviso as to F. A. Cup Contingencies.
Calling up Date Decided that this should be 31st July.
Practice Match Sec'y. instructed to apply for F. A.
permission for 12th August. The Jubilee match
v Liverpool had been fixed for 19th August at Anfield.
Dewar Shield Having won the toss for choice of
grounds, it was decided that we propose 18th October
