reported on this poor game at Newcastle where

Scotland v Wales Mr. G. Evans gave his opinion of this
match wherein T. G. Jones had been outstanding
& Gillick had played well, though selfishly.
Stamps & Frost (N. B.) Mr. A. Coffey stated that the former at
I. L. had played a good game. He was 19, 5'9" & 11st,
Frost who appeared to be 22, was not too good.
Samuel (Barrow) Mr. H. Hart gave this O. R. a very
good report but was deterred in his opinion
by his height of 5'3" although he was stocky.
Irish Players Mr. Hart was not impressed by
Kelso (O. R.) of Derry City but gave a good verdict
of O'Flanagan (O. R.) of Dublin Bohemians.
Butler (Oldham) Mr. H. R. Pickering gave poor reports
& Garrett (P. N. E.) of these players. Dr. C. S. Baxter who had seen
Garrett on Saturday last, was not enamoured
of him, in the least.
Sweeney (Wilton) Messrs T. Fleetwood & R. Bentham
gave very good reports of this O. R. It was agreed
that the Secy. endeavour to arrange for this player
to play in a trial here on the 26th inst.
Carpenter (Burton) Mr. R. Bentham gave good reports
& Hackett (K'minster) of these I. L.'s
Holden (Arsenal) Mr. W. G. Wallace gave a good report
& Fursdon (Torquay) of the former winger but a poor verdict of the
latter.
Trainer (Southend) Mr. E. G. Burgon's letter stated that
this C. F. Was worth keeping in mind.
