Hobbis (Charlton) Mr. W. C. Cuff reported upon his visit with
Mr. T. Percy, to London & that the Club were not prepared
to take anything below £8,000. Therefore the proposed
deal had gone no further & was off for the time being.
Rowley (M/c Utd.) It was agreed that the Chairman approach
the Club with the view of finding whether they were
prepared to part with this O. L.
Essex (Crewe) & Sec'y. gave a promising report of the I. R. of
Greenhalgh (N. B.) Crewe & an excellent report of the 22 yr. old F. B. of
New Brighton.
Oswestry Players Mr. J. Fare did not recommend Pritchard or Formstone.
Griffiths (M/c Utd.) Mr. T. Fleetwood gave a very good report of this R. D.
Joyner (Raith Rovers) Mr. R. R. Cochran stated that this O. L. had
had a poor game, but he 'looked the part' being 18, 5'10",
speedy & well built.
Lowrie (Swansea) Mr. W. Laine gave an excellent report of
this I. R. who had since been transferred to Preston N. E.
Robinson (S. Wed'y) Mr. H. Lyon wrote saying that he
thought this I. R. would suit us.
Turner (Cardiff) Mr. W. J. Wallase reported very well of this O. L.
Enquiries re Players Sec'y. reported the following enquiries:-
Bury re Arthur; Huddersfield re Stevenson & Geldard;
& Shef. Wed'y. re Bell; but it was decided not to part
with any at present.
Glasgow Exhibition It was agreed that we accept the invit-
ation to take part in this tournament.
F. A. Cup Replay Sec'y. was instructed to take advantage
of Wed'y, Jan. 12th or secondarily, Monday, Jan'y. 10th, according
to the result of the toss with L'pool F. C. In the event of a
replay, members & Shareholders & Block F. seats to be 5/-.
J. E. Jones (Army) Application for trial received from this player
but not entertained.
