He was 19 & seemed to be a very good shot. Mr. Cochran's
letters were read, giving his views as to the possibility of obtaining
either or both I. F's. viz. McKinnan (Partick) & McLean (Hibs). Secy.
instructed to ask Mr. Cochran which player be considered to be the better.
Graham (Bury) Mr. H. R. Pickering did not see this I. L. in a
favourable light but Mr. T. Fleetwood at the following match, saw
him play a much better game. Both representatives sized him
as 5'7" & about 10½ st. He was stockily built.
Wolves Players. Very good reports were given of Ashall (O. L.),
Clayton (C. F.), Galley (I. R.), Cullis (C. H.) & Thompson (I. L.) by the
Directors present at the match last Saty.
Payne (Luton) Mr. W. J. Wallace strongly recommended
this C. F.
Leighton (Newcastle) Mr. W. Laine gave a good report of this I. R.
& thought that he was worth enquiry as to possibility of transfer.
Geldard Chairman reported that Geldard had asked
to be put on transfer list, & preferred to go to Huddersfield
Town, if his request was considered. It was decided that
not to entertain the idea.
Danish Tour (235). It was agreed that 3 matches be played
in Copenhagen, provided that the Danish Authorities
guaranteed £800. (241)
Six a side Football (236). Agreed that we do not consider participation
in suggested competitions to commemorate Coronation Year.
Appeals. League of Welldoers were granted permission
to take a collection on the ground & a grant of Two Guineas
was made to start the Fund. Appeal from Nat'l Joint
Comee. for Spanish Relief was not entertained.
