positional player. Morton (O. L.) of West Ham had played
an extraordinarily good game.
Shepherd (Willington) Mr. T. Fleetwood gave a very poor report
of this F. B.
Scotch players Mr. R. R. Cochrane again gave a good
report of Smith (Dundee).
Gallagher (Blackburn) Mr. W. Laine could not recommend this
player as a H. B., his usual position being forward.
Wellington Players Mr. F. W. Lake thought very little of Gould
(I. R.) but thought Jones C. F. worthy of further viewing.
W. Cook (221) It was reported that this player had
lost his mother & that he would return for training on Thursday.
W. Stewart (178) This ex-player having died, it was
agreed that a letter & a wreath be sent.
Newcastle Utd. F. C. Letter read offering McManerny as part ex-
change for Leyfield, but suggestion was not accepted.
Enquiries re Players These reported re Bell & Leyfield from
Preston Nth. End (to consider xchange of Briscoe) Middlesbro'
Blackpool & Blackburn Rovers F. C's. The latter
asked what the lowest price for both would be,
& it was decided that £6,000 be re-affirmed.
Schoolboys at C. L. Matches Letter read, asking whether consideration
could be given to the issue of free tickets. Decided
that a former resolution be adhered to & that no tickets be granted.
Cup Tickets In the event of further progress in the
F. A. Cup & a home drawn tie, it was agreed that all
Directors who could should assemble at 6, Castle St.
at 4.30 pm. on the 18th inst., & fix prices of tickets for
the resultant match.
