Reports re Players Mr. E. Green reported that he did not consider
Parkin (Arsenal) this player was good enough for our requirements
at present.
Alsop (Walsall) Mr. J. Sharp reported that he could not recommend
this player. In his opinion he was simply a
rusher with no command of the ball.
Mills (Clapton O.) He stated that this inside forward was
a good player, but somewhat on the small side.
Eggleston (Bury) Mr. W. C. Gibbins reported that this inside left
had played well until injured.
Whyness (Spennymoor) Mr. J. Fare reported that this man was a
good player & very promising 5-8, 10½ to 11 st & 23 yrs of age.
Brown (Darlington) He also stated that he had heard that this
player was not good enough for us - 26 years old.
Ware (Stoke City) Mr. H. Hart reported that this man had played
rather well, was clever, but rather on selfish side.
Raw & Gale Mr. J. Elliott reported that the former had not
(W. Bromwich) played well, but that the latter had not.
Deacon (Wolves) Mr. F. Lake reported that this player, in
his opinion was not big enough for us.
Heale (Bristol City) Mr. W. J. Wallace gave another good report of
this player & that when the Club was out of
the cup ties, their Directors would give us the first
refusal of him.
Gallacher (Chelsea) Secy. reported that he had been informed
by the Chelsea F.C. that they would be prepared
to part with this player at a fee of £5000. It
was decided to make an offer of from £2500 to
£3000, but powers were given to the Chairman
to increase the offer in an endeavour to secure
his services.
