had received a message from them that they would
give every facility for us to secure the signature
of the player. It was agreed that the Chairman
& Secy. proceed to Bristol with powers to increase
our offer of £1600 to include the accrued share
of benefit due to the player on a £650 basis if
allowed by the League.
Oakes (Port Vale) Letter read from Club that they were not
prepared to accept our offer of £5000.
Blair (Clyde) Secy. was asked to get in touch with Mr.
Ivan G. Sharpe as to his opinion of the capabilities
of this full back.
Hartill or Martin Secy. reported that he had enquired re these
(Wolves) two players & had been informed by Major Buckley
that they would be prepared to part with either
of them for a fee of £4000. Decided to ask the
rock bottom fee required for the former.
Jones (Burnley) Secy. reported that the Burnley F. C. were not
prepared to accept our offer of £1500 for this player.
It was decided to make an increased offer of £1750.
Bacon (Reading) Letter read stating that fee required for
this player would be £5000.
Tippill (Rochdale) Chairman stated that this players transfer
could be obtained for £500. Decided not to negotiate.
T. A. White Secy. reported that N'cle United F. C. had enquired
re this player. Decided we ask a fee of £4000
with a minimum of £3000.
G. S. Martin He also stated that Sheffield United F. C. had
enquired re this player. Decided to ask a fee of
£3000 with a minimum of £2500 & Secy. to inform
Bolton Wanderers F. C. of this.
T. P. Griffiths An application from Grimsby Town re this
players transfer was not entertained.
