[Meeting of Directors held at
Exchange Hotel, Liverpool on
Thursday 28th May 1931]
Present Mr W. C. Cuff (Chair) & all other Directors.
Finance The Bank Balance was reported to be £3265.17.4 Dr.
F.L. & F.A. Meetings It was agreed that the voting at these
meetings be left in the hands of the Directors
attending. It was also agreed that any Director
deciding to attend the Derby have the whole of
his expenses paid.
Articles of Assocn. Letter read from the FA as follows:- I am
instructed to write you that upon further consideration
we have come to the conclusion that our rules have
been disregarded; but that the omission to include our
clauses in your Articles of Association have not vitiated
them; that not withstanding our clauses are not in the
Articles our Rules and Regulations must be observed.
It was decided to send copies of this letter and
our letter to them of the 9th inst to each Director.
Swedish Tour Letter read from the Stockholm Tidningen that
they contended that the cancellation of the Tour must
be indicated as force majeur and beyond their control
Decided to reply that we cannot accept that seeing
that the Arsenal FC had played their matches in
Sweden.
Swiss Tour Telegram read from the Zurich FC that
they were unable to arrange the proposed Tour
Griffiths (Port Vale) The engagement of this player at a fee of
£3000 & Wages of £6 & £7 per week with £1 extra
when in 1st team was confirmed.
Flags Estimates received for providing 2 new
flags, Porter Bros at 72/6 & 59/6, & S. Mathews & Son
