Reports re Players Secy. gave good report of Roberts & Oakes Port Vale " & a fair one of Griffiths. It was decided to make an offer of £1500 for the former. Luton Players Mr. J. Fare gave good reports of Clark & Kingham. It was decided to make an offer of £1000 for the former. Lincoln Players Mr. H. Hart reported that Savage had started well v Rotherham U., but had faded out before the finish. He also gave poor reports of March & Lax. Brookes & Archer Mr. T. Fleetwood gave a poor report of the (Walsall) former, and an excellent one of the latter. Beasley (Stourbridge) Mr. L. Weller gave another good report of this inside left. Stockport Players Chairman reported that the Stockport County F.C. had offered to transfer Bocking, Boardman & Helliwell to us for £4000. It was left in his hands to make an offer of £1500 for the first named with power to go up to £2000. Cooper & Crooks The Chairman reported that he had written (Derby County) the club re the possible transfer of these two players, but had received a reply that they had no intention of parting with them at present. Edwards & Keetley Secy. stated that the club were not prepared (Leeds United) to consider the transfer of these players at present.
