[Meeting of Directors held at
Exchange Hotel, Liverpool
on Friday 17th June 1932]
Present Mr. W. C. Cuff (Chair) & all other Directors
except Mr. C. Hayes.
Bank Secy. reported that he had interviewed
the Managers of the local branches of Martins Bank
Ld., the Westminster Bank & Barclays Ld., but the
two former had declined to make a quotation to
take over our a/c and the latter did not care to
compete against our present Bankers. It was decided
therefore to continue dealing with our present Bankers.
New Players The action of the Chairman & Secy. in arranging
Stevens (N. Brighton) for this players transfer at a fee of £500 and
a match to open the new ground of the New Brighton
Club, and the player signed on at £5 per week
with £1 per week extra when in 1st team and a
signing on fee of £10 was confirmed.
Meek (Gateshead) Secy. reported that he had offered a fee
of £1000 for this player's transfer subject to the
consent of both clubs Boards, but had heard
nothing further.
Lax (Blackpool) He also reported that the club were prepared
to accept a fee of £1200 for this players transfer.
Davidson (St. Bernards) Dr. C. S. Baxter stated that he had heard
good reports of this inside forward.
It was decided not to take any further
steps re. these 3 players until we had seen them
play next season.
