Reports re Players The Directors who visited the Scotland v England
McNab (Dundee) Match reported that this player had given a
fairly satisfactory display, but on enquiry his
character was not good. Decided to take no
action at the moment.
Waterfield (Burnley) The Chairman reported that he had made an
offer of £2500 which he eventually increased to
£3000 for this player's transfer. The Burnley
Club had asked for a further £1000. Decided
to await a further movement by this Club.
Archer & Bradford Mr. J. Fare reported that the former was a
(Walsall) good attacker, but a poor defender & was on the
light side. He gave a very good report of
the latter.
Worrall (Oldham) Letter read from Oldham Athletic F.C. stating
that the fee required for this player was £4000
Decided not to negotiate at that figure.
Kingham & Clarke Mr H Hart give further good reports
(Luton) of these two players.
Hannant (Stanley) Mr W Laine reported that this full back
was not of standard required.
Ashton St. Thomas Mr J McGill reported that none of these
players players were good enough for us.
Pointon (Stoke) Mr L Weller gave a good report of this
goalkeeper.
Purcell (Winsford) Mr J Elliott gave a further good report
of this inside forward.
Wadsworth (Burnley) Letter read from this player. Decided
not to negotiate for his transfer.
