He hoped we would take our defeat like sportsmen
& show a determination, each & every one to put
every effort forth to bring the Club back to the
1st Division. The Directors had used every effort
to save the club from relegation.
The Chairman then formally moved &
Mr. W. J. Sawyer seconded the adoption of the
Accounts, Balance Sheet & Report.
Mr. W. J. Minto stated that the poor selection
of players had most to do with the bad season.
He stated that all promises had not been kept
(Directors)
& suggested they all resigned.
Mr. J. A. Davies stated that although a sum
of £19.7.000 had been spent in wages & transfer
fees since the War the club had never except
for one year held a decent position in the League,
and that the Reserve Team had not been up to
requisite strength.
Mr. F. W. Lake spoke in similar strain and
also pointed out that the Club had only won
9 F. A. Cup ties in 11 Seasons.
Mr. J. Russell suggested a change of the whole
Board, but the Chairman interviewed at this
moment & stated there was a notice of Motion
re this question later on the agenda.
On the Motion of Mr. R. A. Giattan seconded
by Mr. A. Lomax the a/cs & Balance Sheet were
passed & adopted.
Dividend On the proposition of Mr. E. Green seconded
by Mr. A. Coffey, it was agreed that a Dividend
of 7½ % less Income Tax, be paid on the paid
up capital of the Company for the year
ending 3rd May 1930.
