held at Exchange Station Hotel
on Monday 12th March 1928]
Present Mr. W. C. Cuff (Chair) & all other Directors
except Mr. H. Banks & Dr. C. Baxter.
Reports re Players Messrs A. Coffey & Secy. reported that they
Thompson & Lewis were not impressed with the displays of
(Swansea) these two players. They had made enquires
& found that fee wanted for Lewis was £4500
& that they had not fixed anything definite
re Thompson, but it would be considerably
more than for Lewis. Decided to take no
further action in the matter.
Tilson & Brooks Messrs J. Fare & D. Kirkwood reported that
(Barnsley) they did not consider the former good
enough, but the latter was a good player.
Jones (Bournemouth) Mr. E. Green reported that this man
was a very good player, but that he
thought he was only about 5'4" which
in his opinion was somewhat against him.
After discussion it was decided that
the Secretary proceed at once to negotiate
for the transfer of one of the following
players.
1. Dunn (Hibs) up to £6000.
2. McClelland (M'bro) up to £6000.
3. Crosbie (B'gham) up to £3000.
also that Mr. D. Kirkwood proceed to try
and secure the transfer of Jones (Bournemouth)
up to £1000 provided he is not less than 5.5½.
Confirmed as Correct
