[Special Meeting of Directors
held at N. Western Hotel on
Monday 7th Feby. 1927]
Present Mr. W. C. Cuff (Chair) & all other Directors
except Dr. J. C. Baxter & Mr. A. Coffey.
Oakes (P. Vale) Mr. J. Fare gave a good report of this
player but stated that club were not
prepared to entertain the idea of a transfer.
Kelly & Brae Mr. J. Fare reported very favorably
(Ayr. United) of the former, but that the latter was
not good enough. Secy. was given power
to sign the former on up to £2000.
McPhail It was decided that Secy. proceed
& Weldon to Airdrie to make an offer of £5.500 for
(Airdrieonians) the former with power to increase same
if necessary to £6000, and also to state that
we would be prepared to offer a good sum
for Weldon as soon as he had recovered.
Secy. informed the Board that offers had
to be sent in in writing by tomorrow night.
& same to be accepted or rejected that night.
Gibson Should the negotiations for McPhail
(Hamilton) not carry through. Secy. was instructed
to negotiate for this player.
Creswell The action of Secy. with the consent
of the Chairman in signing this player on
at a fee of £4750 with £10 signing on
bonus & limit wages to end of present
season was confirmed.
Wales v England Consent was given for our player
T. P. Griffiths to play in this match
at Wrexham on the 12th inst.
