character & capable of explanation as to form no
criterion of the players ability, the Plymouth
club be requested to give Livingstone a more
extended trial (say for a month) before coming
to a final decision as to his abilities & that should
Livingstone at the expiration of that period fail
to materially improve upon his display of Saturday
last, this club would then favorably consider
the proposal to review the terms of the transfer
& that the Plymouth club be accordingly written to.
After discussion in which the unanimous
opinion as to Livingstone's great abilities was expressed
the resolution put by the Chairman was carried.

Reports re Players Mr. A. Coffey gave an excellent report of
Rankin (Charlton) this player & it was decided to see him again.
Smith (S. Shields) Mr. J. Sawyer stated that he did not
consider this player forceful enough.
Temple & Thompson Mr. J. Fare gave a good report of these two
(Preston Colliery) players especially the latter.
Jack Rolls (Bolton) Mr. Banks reported that he did not consider
this player good enough for us.
