[Special Meeting of Directors held
at Goodison Park, Liverpool on
Saturday 13th January 1923]
Present Mr W. C. Cuff (Chair) & all other Directors
except Dr Baxter.
Woodhouse (P.N.E.) Secy reported no reply from P.N.E. He
was instructed to write the club on the matter
referred to at last meeting.
Cock (Chelsea) The Chairman reported that he had
interviewed the Chelsea club & had finally
offered £2000. Secy was given powers to sign
the player on if this figure was accepted
& the Chairman's action was confirmed.
McBain (M/C U) Secy was instructed to write the two
Wilson (Wednesday) clubs concerned thanking them for their
Kindness in offering us these players, but
to point out that we considered the fees of
(£4600) & £6000 respectively far too high but
that if they were prepared to considerably
reduce same, we may enter into negotiations.
Troup (Dundee) Secy instructed to ask if Club were
now prepared to part with this player & if so
transfer fee required.
Meeting Decided to hold meeting at Exchange
Hotel on Tuesday at 5.30 instead of at ground.
Bullock (Bury) Letter read from Mr Horrocks (Chairman
Bury F.C) stating that they were not prepared to
part with this player at present but that if
they eventually decided to do so, we would
have first refusal.
Special Training Decided to take the 12 players selected
for today together with Reid & Irvine to
