Report re Players Mr. W. J. Wallace reported unfavorably of Webster
Walsall v Aberdare & Bowen (Walsall) & favorably of Syme (F. B.), Sheldon
(R. H.), Burgess & Brown (I. F.) of Aberdare.
Northwich Players Mr. W. Green reported that none of these players
were of the standard required by us.
Kerr (Luton) H. Makepeace reported favorably on this
player & suggested he be seen again.
McGovern (Clydebank) Secy. reported that he hardly considered
this player good enough for us at present.
Dunn (Hibernian) but he reported very favorably on this player
but the club were not prepared to part with him.
Kerr (Bathgate) J. Fare gave an excellent report on this
player & it was decided that Mr. W. J. Sawyer &
Secy. proceed to watch him on Saturday with
powers to sign him on at a fee up to £1000.
Isherwood (Fleetwood) Secy. reported that he did not consider
this player good enough for us.
Adamson & Bullock D. Kirkwood gave a favorable report
(Bury) re the former but stated that he was not too
much impressed by the latter.
Varco (Torquay) Letter read from club. Secy. was instructed
to ask them if they could let us know result
of their deliberations on our offer.
Osborne (Fulham) Secy. reported that this player was on offer
& price asked was £3500 to £4000. Decided
not to negotiate on this basis.
Brown (Huddersfield) Secy. was instructed to enquire if respective
Dickson (Aston Villa) clubs were prepared to part with these players
now.
