Reports re Players The Chairman & Mr. J. Sharp reported favorably
Varco (Torquay) on this player & Stated that they had interviewed
the Torquay directors & had made an offer of £400
for his transfer. Secy. was instructed to write
confirming this & also to suggest that we might
play them a match in addition.
Winn (Bradford C.) Messrs E. Green & Secy. reported very favorably
on this player, but stated that the club were
not prepared to take less than £2000. It was
decided not to take any action until we satisfied
ourselves re Forbes but Secy. to ask if they would
be prepared to reduce the amount.
Crown (S. Shield) Secy. reported that he and the Staff had
watched this player v Stockport County but could
not recommend him.
Cawthorne (H'field) Mr. A. R. Wade & J. Fare reported favorably
on this player & Secy. read letter from club that
they required £2500 for his transfer.
New Brighton Mr. A. Coffey reported unfavorably on the
Walsall display of Glover but favorably on Webster (RB)
& Bowen (IR) of Walsall.
Silcock (M/c U.) H. Makepeace reported that this player
was not nearly so good as he was & he could
not recommend him.
