262 Crossley The action of the Directors at an informal meeting on the 9th inst. agreeing to pay this player £200 in lieu of presumed accrued share of benefit on being transferred was confirmed & Secy. reported that he had transferred him to West Ham United for fee of £1000. Ground in The Secy. reported on his interview with Townsend Lane the Secy. of the N. L'pool F.C. & made a suggestion that the whole of the large playing pitch be fenced in. The N. L'pool F.C. Club were prepared to do all the work if we would in addition to letting them have the use of this ground for 2 seasons free. We pay the rates at present due. It was proposed that estimates be obtained for the necessary material, that a recommendation that the remaining grounds be advertised to let & that the whole matter be left in hands of ground Committee to deal with. It was also agreed to let the Anfield Social Club F.C. the free use of one of the pitches on alternate Saturdays during next Season. Marquiss Letter read from P.N.E. F.C. asking for an offer for this player but it was decided to take no further action at present. Picnic It was decided to entertain the Players & staff to a picnic on Sat. Augt. 5th & the Stores Committee & Secy. were empowered to endeavour to arrange for same to be held at Farndon & Chester & that they visit these places & report at next meeting.
