Houston The Football Association having sent an application to
them from Houston for permission to play for Linfield for
our observations, the Secretary was instructed to reply that
as Houston was a Soldier stationed in Belfast we would
have no objection to his assisting Linfield provided he
played as an Amateur and in all other respects conformed
to the regulations of the Army F.A.
Payment to The Secretary read a letter from the Football Association
Players in reply to our letter covering Fern's application on behalf
of the players for payment, in which the Secretary of the
Football Association stated that as he had been made
acquainted with a consensus of opinion that there was not
that material change in the position of the War which
would warrant a reconsideration of the regulations and
restrictions now in force as to payment of players, he felt he
would not be justified in bringing such letter before his
Council. The Secretary was instructed to bring the
contents of such letter to Fern's notice.
