290 [At a Meeting of Directors held at the Bradford Hotel, Liverpool on the 7th day of January 1919] Present:- W. R. Clayton Esq. (in the Chair) H. Banks Esq. J. G. Davies Esq. A. Coffey Esq. R. F. Francis Esq. John Davies Esq. H. Halsall Esq. The Minutes of the proceedings at a meeting held on the 30th December 1918 were read & confirmed. Reports The Chairman reported that a League Commission consisting of Messrs John Lewis & C. E. Sutcliffe held an enquiry on Saturday last, the 4th inst., regarding the Blackpool visit, & had examined the books & vouchers of the Club in respect of that matter and the Expenses of J. Miller & J. Smith, also interviewing those two players. The result of their examination had not yet been communicated, but they had taken charge temporarily of the vouchers of the Blackpool expenses. League It was reported that a Meeting of the Meeting Football League had been confirmed for Monday next, the 13th inst. at the Grand Hotel Manchester. Resolved that the Chairman & Secretary attend as representatives of this Club, and that the Blackpool F.C.'s proposals for an extension of the football Season, & the extension of the League be not agreed to. Resolved that J. Maconnachie, receive the same Christmas Box as the other players, & That the payment to Mr. H. Barker be increased from 7/6 to 10/- per week in recognition of his services in the Counting House, the increase to date from the 11th instant.
