[Emergency meeting of Directors held at the Bradford
Hotel, August 23rd 1916]
Present W. R. Clayton Esq. (Chair)
Messrs H. Banks
A. Coffey
There not being a quorum the Directors present resolved
to hold an emergency meeting.
Minutes The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed.
Entertainments The Secretary reported that the Board of Customs
Tax and Excise had intimated that the Bond should
be executed in the presence of one of their witnesses
and the Secretary was instructed to ask the representative
to attend on Monday evening for that purpose.
The Secretary reported that he had received no reply
from Robert Parker and read a letter from Brown
and he was instructed to consent to Brown playing
in Scotland, provided he received no remuneration
therefor.
Young The Secretary read a cable from Young's Solicitors
and his reply thereto. That up to the present no
subscriptions had been received from the public.
The Secretary was instructed to further reply to the
letter from Young's Solicitors, stating that at the
expiration of Young's sentence the Club might render
him some assistance, and that under the circumstances
it would perhaps be as well if Young's legal expenses
were defrayed out of his existing assets.
