LANCASHIRE SENIOR CUP Yes ---------------------- Cup Scheme -------- 1. That the 16 Clubs forming the Lancashire Section of the Football League be invited to compete for the Lancashire Cup on the conditions hereinafter mentioned. 2. The Subsidiary competition of the Lancashire Section shall be a preliminary cup competition. 3. The winners of the four sections shall be the semi-finalists. 4. The gate receipts in the preliminary competition to be retained and disposed of by rules governing the Subsidiary Competition of the Lancashire Section. 5. The Lancashire Football Association to take the gate in the semi-finals and finals, pay all expenses and provide medals for the winners and runners-up. 6. The semi-finals to be played on the third Saturday in May and the final on the fourth Saturday. All these matches to be played to a finish. The Advantages of the scheme ---------------------------- The fixtures already made under the auspices of the League will not be disturbed and the idea will convert the majority of the Subsidiary matches into special cup-ties thus making the games keener and more attractive. The honour of winning the cup and medals will be an incentive to the players. The project will maintain interest in football at a time when it begins to wane and this means increased gates for pooling in the subsidiary tournament. Above all things the Lancashire Football Association will be provided with funds to carry on the imperative propaganda work amongst junior associations and players.
