That the Secretary had attended the meeting
at Derby on the 12th inst. called by the F.A. to
inaugurate a scheme for the assistance of
players and their dependants owing to the
war and other causes. That the Scheme
was launched, that the F.A. had promised
to transfer £5000 from the Benevolent Fund
to the new fund & that the Management
Committee at their meeting on the 14th inst.
had promised their full assistance and
that it was probable that the playing of
Matches during May & August for the benefit
of the fund would be sanctioned.
The Chairman reported that as the result of
our Match at Tranmere wherein the gross
receipts were £19.0.4 the Sportsmen's Ambce.
Fund would receive about £30 from the two
Semi final ties of the Medal Tournament.
