[Meeting of Directors held at Goodison Park
October 27th 1914.]
Present All the Directors except Dr. Baxter and Mr. Green.
Minutes The Minutes of the last meeting were read and
confirmed.
Ireland Messrs Coffey and Halsall reported their visit to
Northampton and could not recommend either
of the Southampton backs. They however spoke
very favourably of Hughes the outside right and
Lockett the centre forward of Northampton and
Messrs Kirkwood and Coffey were deputed to see them
play on Saturday next and report.
Clark Mr. Clayton was deputed to see this Glenavon player
also Nixon play at Swansea on Saturday next and
report.
Liddell The Secretary reported his visit to North Shields
that he was not impressed with the play of Liddell
but he was favourably impressed with the play of
Lee centre forward and Taylor left half back of North
Shields.
Financial The Secretary reported that a Meeting of the Clubs had
Assistance been convened for Friday next at the Grand Hotel,
Scheme Manchester, at 2:30 p.m. The Chairman and he
were instructed to represent the Club.
The Secretary reported that the players whilst consenting
to the reductions in their salaries had declined to
sign the new agreements authorising the same.
