[Meeting of Directors held at Goodison Park,
October 6th 1914.]
Present All the Directors except Messrs Coffey & Kelly.
Minutes The minutes of the last meeting were read and
confirmed.
Ireland John Fare having again favourably reported on
this player, it was resolved that Messrs Clayton,
Halsall & Wright go to Southampton and see
him play on Saturday next with power to
negotiate up to £500 or thereabouts for his transfer
and also to view the play of Bailey the Reading
inside right.
Mr. Kirkwood, the Secretary and John Fare
reported their visit to Blackburn yesterday, that
Jones was a good player but too small, that
Robson did not play, that Lane was moderate.
John Fare reported that the play of Green the
Southampton right back and Small their right
half back was only moderate.
Clark The Secretary reported that he had received no reply
from Mr. J. Ferguson re Clark and he was instructed
to write him again.
McLeod That Leeds City were prepared to receive offers for
McLeod.
Stevens That Hull City asked £1500 for Stevens in addition
to which we were to settle with the player - no action.
