[Meeting of Directors held at Goodison Park,
September 8th 1914]
Present All the Directors except Mr. Coffey.
Minutes The minutes of the last meeting were read and
confirmed.
Stevenson The Secretary reported the receipt of £24 the first
instalment of the sum of £64 due from William Stevenson.
It was resolved that he be placed on the open to transfer
list at £300.
War Relief The Secretary reported the receipt from the Lord Mayor
Fund of letter of great thanks for our donation of £500 which
he proposed to place to the credit of the Liverpool Branch
of the War Relief Fund. Resolved that his action
be confirmed.
The Chairman reported his attendance at the office of
the Football Association and that the proposal to play a
series of Inter County matches was favourably considered
but it was thought that owing to the present feeling
generally with regard to football the time was not
opportune for carrying such proposal into effect. The
Football Association desired us to embody in writing full
details of the proposed scheme and submit same to them.
The Secretary was instructed to give effect to this suggestion.
John Page The Secretary read a letter from Gainsborough Trinity
hereon offering to transfer this player on payment
of the wages already paid to him but such offer was
declined and the Secretary was empowered to further
correspond with the Club.
